Gan began her career as the inaugural Music Coordinator at the founding of Taylors College Sydney, a direct partner of the University of Sydney. As a leading member, she oversaw and structured the Music Department of the University's Foundation Program. After moving to Singapore, she taught Music Electives at the Raffles Institution, and has been teaching for over three decades. Gan continues to promote accessibility in music by facilitating opportunities for her students to play with orchestras, as well as perform solo recitals on international stages such as Carnegie Hall, Esplanande Recital Studio, the Mozarteum Concert Hall, Musikverein Hall, and others.
